After our last pick up we will drive to Pamukkale/Denizli.  The drive will take approximately 1 hour and 20 mins,  through the Taurus Mountains – passing traditional authentic Turkish villages and having breakfast on the way.  After breakfast, our tour guide will give you information about Pamukkale Day Trip from Oludeniz and Turkey and Hierapolis and Pamukkale (cotton castle ). After being destroyed by many earthquakes , we can only see what remains such as the city baths and an amphitheatre , which has a 13.000 seating capacity. Pamukkale (Hierapolis) is a famous natural phenomenon and lies on a small hill from where in a huge quantities calcium rich volcanic springs flow . For  thousands of years this water has sprung from the ground.  It is about 36-37 degrees in temperature.  The water contains calcium hydro corbanate in huge quantities.  When it comes into contact with oxygen, the carbon  dioxide and carbon monoxide escape and then calcium carbonate settles and forms the travertines (white terraces). The waters are bath temperature and are believed to be of benefit for heart and circulatory complaints in particular.   You will be able to walk along the terraces after removing your footwear and even swim in these health promoting waters.   After lunch we will visit the carpet weaving centre and you can see how authentic hand made Turkish carpets are produced, from seeing the silk worm’s coccoons and silk production and the old Turkish ladies spinning and colouring the wool right through to the weavers weaving the carpets by hand.  If you wish to purchase one of these original and certified carpets, the factory staff will be pleased to assist you by showing you both modern and old style carpets and will arrange for shipment of your carpet at no extra cost.
